We have all had someone ask us to copy our homework. They might have overslept and forgotten to do it, been too lazy, etc. Whatever the reason, we cave because they’re our friend, and we give them all the answers.
This seems like an unharmful exchange, right? Wrong. This is cheating.
You are cheating.
In my opinion, if you cheat, you’re only cheating yourself. Wether you’re the one giving away answers or receiving them, cheating isn’t going to do you any good.
Now, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t help out a friend in need of assistance. I know it’s tempting to let a friend copy your work. However, if they are struggling with schoolwork and they ask you for the answers, my advice is to offer to help them work through it. Don’t just let them copy all your answers down. This way, your friend will understand the material, and neither of you will be in danger of getting caught cheating.
Research shows that 95% of students who cheat do not get caught. I know what you’re thinking: “Might as well cheat because I won’t get caught.” Well, if you end up being part of that 5% who do get caught, be prepared for a trip to the counsellor’s office, a meeting with your teachers and parents, and possibly, if you cheat on a test, a test invalidation.
My best advice i can give you is to NOT CHEAT. As tempting as it might be, it’s not worth the consequences.
