Dog has been man’s best friend for thousands of years, and in the United States, an estimated 40% of families own at least one dog. It is said that when you see a dog, your brain releases several good anti-stress chemicals in response, and the dog’s brain does it too. So, for all the dog lovers, there is an exciting event coming up, on this Sunday, May 6th: the Humane Society for Greater Savannah’s Annual Doggie Carnival!
Put together by the local animal shelter, this year’s Doggie Carnival is the 18th one, and the admission is free! So bring you, your family, and your dog to Forsyth Park between noon and 4 P.M. to partake in the festivities.
There will be many different activities for your dog to partake in, including but not limited to:
- Doggie Derby, where dogs will compete against each other in fun, dog-friendly races,
- Dog Agility Equipment, where dogs will test their skills on an obstacle course,
- Paw Print Art
- Doggie Pools
- Photo Booths for you and your dog
There are also plenty of tasty opportunities with dog treat decorating and also plenty of food trucks, for both you and your dog.
All proceeds for the event are going towards the Humane Society for Greater Savannah, which is why you should go support this event if you can! Plus, it would be an amazing way to spend your Sunday.
